How to Troubleshoot AOL Mail on the iPad

AOL Mail is an IMAP-enabled email account that has full compatibility with your iPad. Using your iPad's Mail application you can send and receive email messages from your AOL Mail account. Once you've setup your AOL Mail account on your iPad, if your account doesn't properly send and receive email messages, you can troubleshoot your AOL Mail settings and restore AOL email functionality to the iPad device.

Step 1

Tap the "Settings" icon on your iPad.

Tap the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" button.

Tap your AOL email account.

Step 4

Verify that your correct AOL email address appears in the address field. Make any needed changes to this field.

Step 5

Verify that "imap.aol.com" appears in the Host Name field under the Incoming Mail Server subsection. Make any needed changes to this field.

Tap the "SMTP" button.

Verify that the Primary Server field shows "smtp.aol.com." Verify that this server is on. If the server isn't on, tap the server name and move the "Server" switch to the on position.

Press the home button on your iPad.

Step 9

Tap the "Mail" icon and attempt to send or receive email messages using your AOL account.
