How to Copy Playlists in Windows Media Player

You must either have a blank CD or USB flash drive to copy your playlist.

Windows Media Player is a media player from Microsoft that runs on all Windows operating systems, and allows you to view movies and listen to songs. Windows Media Player also allows you to create playlists so you can store and organize your movies and songs. In addition to creating playlists, you can also copy your playlists to either a CD or USB flash drive to protect against lost data or to take your songs on the go.

Step 1

Click the Windows "Start" Menu and select "Windows Media Player" from the "Programs" list.

Click the "Copy to CD or Device" tab on the left side. Click the down-arrow under "Items to copy" and select the playlist you wish to copy.

Click the check box to uncheck any items you don't wish to copy. All items are checked to copy by default.

Step 4

Click the down-arrow under "Items on Device." Select the device you wish to copy to, such as a CD or a USB flash drive. Insert a blank or rewriteable CD if you are copying the playlist to a disc, or a USB flash drive if you are copying the playlist to a flash drive. Click the "Copy" button at the top-corner of the screen. The playlist will begin copying to the device.

Click "OK" when a pop-up box notifies you that the playlist has been copied successfully.
