An ".otf" font is in the OpenType format. It is a computer font designed by Microsoft and Adobe based on the TrueType format. It expands on the TrueType font by including an expanded character set and layout features. The OpenType format is a cross-compatible format, which means that the same font can be used on both Windows and Mac. However, the OpenType format is not recognized by all word processing and graphic applications. To use the font with the applications that do not recognize the OpenType format, you can convert them into the TrueType (.ttf) format.
