Controlling the brightness of your HP laptop screen can save battery power or just make the screen easier to look at. If you are not connected to AC power, the brighter your computer monitor is, the faster the battery will drain. You can get more mileage out of your battery by dimming the screen. Alternatively, if you are watching a movie or working in a document with a darker background, a brighter screen makes it easier to see items on the screen. Changing the brightness of your HP laptop screen can be done with a simple key combination.
Step 1
Hold down the "Windows" key, then press "M" to minimize any windows that are open on the screen and display the Windows desktop.
